    Default LSR axle

Why do the Hubs always come loose?

It drive me nuts. I can get them tight as hell. Install the pin and after 2 rides its loose, the wheel wobbles and i can remove the pin and remove the nut with my fingers... Why is this normal from what i am told? Can't this aid in why i see them always break at the hub mount?

I was told it's the spacers LSR uses between the hub and the axle flange. They mushroom out over time and cause everything to come loose over and over again. I had the same issue on my LSR-axled 450R and 250R. Jumbo Jack was telling me about someone who made better spacers (hardened or something), so maybe ask him about it...

I am having the same issue. My question is if I do put something that is harder that won't mushroom out won't that cause the pressure to transfer into the Axel and mushroom out it ? Seems strange that LSR wouldn't just make a stronger spacer if that was a good fix and didn't cause othere issues.

I use blue loctite and the biggest cotter pins that will fit on mine and don't have problems with it anymore and haven't for a few years.

You do need to torque your hub nuts to factory spec. Or you will have problems.

Ya if you do use hardened spacers with aluminum hubs it will just transfer the problem somewhere else. I torque mine with a 1ft breaker bar and I slide a piece of steel over the end that is about 6-8 inches longer and I torque the hell out of them. Then if they do come loose the 1/8" that the pin will allow they will still be tight. It doesn't matter what kind of axle you have the hub nuts is one of those things you should check every ride.

I notice that when most people break a LSR axle it's breaking at the hub splines
is that normal when they come loose when landing from jumps?
