    Default State Land Permits

I have been asked this question many times when posting rides and thought it would be helpful for everyone.

Most of the land we ride on REQUIRES that you have a State Land Permit. That means everyone in your riding party must have a copy on their person/quad. The cost is very reasonable at $20 for the entire family and it is good for one year. This will keep you in compliance with State Laws and help avoid costly tickets if you are caught riding on State Land without a permit and helps keep our riding areas open. Below are a couple of links to help you get your State Land Permit. You may fill out the paper work and mail in a check or go to the AZ State Land office and purchase permit.

I know this is an older thread, but I have a question. Is the one year from the date you buy it until that same date the next year, or does it always expire at the end of the year like a hunting or fishing license?

Duner, they are good for 1 year from the date you buy them. So, if you get one now, it will be good until this time next year.

thats just crazy and wrong they weren`t getting people to purchase them before thats not going to help any.why such a huge jump in price maybe because they will actually have people enforcing it well a few people.

It really seems like a slap in the face since they have also initiated the $25 OHV decal this year that you have to purchase through MVD.

My understanding it that your OHV sticker replaces this and you only need the ASL permit for your parked vehicle, or is my info incorrect?

You are correct, but if all you needed in the past was the household or family permit for all the vehicles used by one household, then you still need that for your transport vehicle if you park it on State Trust Land. In other words you have to pay $75 now for the State Trust Land permit plus your $25 per ATV, Dirt Bike or other off highway vehicle. Doesn't sound like much of a deal to me, unless the state or other government entity that is getting all this money is paying your salary.
