    Yup! That is correct.

OHV is just for Arizona registration, STLP is for "recreating" on State Trust Land.

Actually no...but there is a catch. With the new ohv plate and sticker you are allowed to travel across stl. However if you have a support vehicle that you plan on parking on stl (the vehicle that you got the quad there with) you will need the permit for that...you gotta love it when the guberment starts looking for ways to raise money.

Forgot to add that on July 1st the permits are going back down to what they should be $15 for a single permit and $20 for a family permit...I'll be first in line

I will mail my application in since I hate standing in line at any government office.

Ltech1, Technically you are correct but I leave that detail out because how many are actually just passin' through?? Thus the recreating in quotes.

Remember this is Government and definition is always subject to interpretation. Even sex has to be defined for our Government officials. Oh I guess that may be recreating, so be sure you have a permit if you plan on any such activity on State Trust Land.

By the way I just checked the State Land Department web site and they have not as yet lowered the permit fee shown on the application. So I guess July 1st is the magical date for this. Does anyone know, if I wait until July 1st 2009 to get the permit is it good until July 1st of 20010?

ElderGeek...I'm just splitting hairs and giving you a hard time. Actually I find that little loop hole very amusing. I mean come on how many times are you ever gonna ride on stl while your vehicle is parked off of stl
