Default Memorial Day weekend at the dunes

We rode the best sand I have ever seen out there. It was very, very soft & steep on the downwind sides, So much so you would stall the quad because the wheels would flat stop spinning if you didn't grab the clutch as the whole layer of sand slide down the dune with you. The dunes took a funky shape with nobody riding on it for a few months along with all the wind we had lately but it was simply fantastic!! Sand highway to Olds was down to single lane from being filled up with dunes fingers. Wouldn't even know it was the sand highway if you didn't know it. A solid breeze kept the afternoons tolerable. Sunday we had no wind so we had to fire up the A/C. Spent a few hours at Boardmanville playing a little pool in the hottest part of the day, had it to ourselves too.

You don't get cool enough temps this time of year usually so I was glad we took advantage this year.

Even got a couple of rides in some rails. One had an LS3, the other a Honda six banger from an Odyssy Mini van with a turbo. Both had snap your neck torque. Launching the top of Olds going down hill then hittin' the lip at the bottom should be on everyone's bucket list!!! I was in heaven.....

I forgot about the 100+ mph runs. A couple at 111mph.

..... and the run down sand highway back to Gecko road at night, third gear wheelies for 100 yards over the rollers west of the Osborn look out.

Things you can do when no one is in the way....

    Here they are:

AzRob in the LS3 and Jeephreak in the Honda 6-Banger Turbo. After riding in both I like the Honda best.
