Injured Racer Victor Florenciani

As many of you know Victor and his brother Jhavier were both injured during the Cinders race and transported to Flagstaff hospital.

We were able to bring Jhavier home tonight with a broken scapula (Shoulder blade), some road rash, and bruises. Jhavier is in pretty good shape considering that his quad is totaled.

Victor on the other hand is little more beat up. He is currently in ICU and will be for several days. Both of his lungs were collapsed, has severe internal bleeding in his chest where they inserted 2 chest tubes to drain it, and is currently receiving blood transfusions to replace all the lost blood. He also has a broken sternum, and several broken ribs. For now they have placed him on a vent to breath for him because of the intense pain and blood loss.

Victor had developed a fever and pneumonia and is currently having fluid drained from his lungs. He will stay on the ventilator for several more days. He is scheduled to have surgery Friday for his shattered sternum.

Victor is a very tough a stubborn guy so I know he will be strong and pull through all this. His wife is at bedside with him.
