Thumbs up Bloody Basin to Verde River (Sheeps Bridge) Ride

We are planning to meet at 7:00am- Sunday June 13th. To get there take I-17 north from Phoenix about 50 miles to Bloody Basin Road Exit 259. Take Bloody Basin East and park near "Info Sign". You can also travel east on Bloody Basin road to numerous staging areas. This is also the entrance to Agua Fria National Monument. There are more than 450 archaeological sites, some of which are nearly 1,000 years old.

Highlights on this trail include petroglyphs, numerous creek crossings, a geo chache at Verde River, fishing, camping and various terrain. You can also access Seven Springs via Cave Creek Road southbound. Childs and Verde Hot Springs are also accessible just east of Cave Creek Road north of Bloody Basin Road. Look for signs.

From staging area to Verde River and back is approximately 85 miles, not including any additonal side trips. This is a full day adventure so bring plenty of water and food. There are no permits required for this trail, except an OHV TAG.
