But if you just take it off that's most of the problem right there!

    See ya'll Saturday!

Not switching to twist...too soon to do it for a 4 hour race with no practice. I'd kill myself, especially in that hole on the back side of the desert section.

How long does it take to reverse the spring? I definately need to do that at least. Can it be done before the race (at the track)? Or can I attempt it? Not sure I'll have time to bring it by your house before then.

No problem taking the spring out track side. Might even be able to reverse it and fine tune it in time...unless you get there at 11:30 In any case it will be better than what you have.

    Alex,

I've been sick all day but my plan is to be there by 10am. If I make it through the night without puking I'll be out there.

    Hey Kat,

    Hope you pull through alright!

In prepping my quad I found four frame fractures, one just about all the way around the tube, and both exhaust hangers were ripping out. Got the 'ol welder out and took care of them in addition to adding another bracket to hold the seat on (notorious for coming off). Just gotta finish the air filter, adjust the air, get some gas and I'm ready to go!

I think we're all a little sick to go and do a four hour race in this heat and convince ourselves that it is fun! Sick...sick...sick....

I had a great time. There were 3 men in Ironman, 3 women in Ironwoman I believe, and a team or two.

It was hot but the track was significantly longer than the last time which was nice. It was a modified version of the last GP track. Compared to the first Endurance race I think this one was a bit rougher but I enjoyed the challenge. I am just getting over being sore though

All I can say is kudos to Alex and Joe as those guys can pound out laps like no one's business. They were right up there with the team racers. The ironwomen did a great job as well.

The turnout was a bit low which is unfortunate because I love the GP style courses and I don't think there's a better way to get in shape than doing a 50 minute or even a 4 hour race. Motocross should seem like cake now!

The GS crew always does a great job of making the track fun, different, and challenging also.

The race was pretty uneventful for me except my mid-pipe sheared off from the muffler about halfway through the race and my ears are still recovering from 2 hours of an uncorked exhaust right by my leg

No more races until September in the Endurance or GP series so it's probably time to show the Suzuki some love before the wheels shear off too (sound familiar Alex?).

It's amazing what a little practice before the race will do for you, so much better then the first one I did. Turns out my pit stops weren't dictated by gas, but by camelback refills It wasn't quite halfway through when I ran out of water and I value my life more than to run without so I came in and took an extended break to get gassed, watered and cooled down before heading back out. Had to do it again a little more than an hour later, but this time I was quicker in and out, maybe six minutes, enough time for Les to give me grief about being a slacker That's when Joe went on by. We both got the same number of laps, but I was behind him by about four minutes.

There was a trench in the back 40 that was tough, I high centered (yeah, on my Outlaw) and by the time I got the quad going, Joe made it around me. I caught up to him at the same place as he was having problems and as I was going around him he got going again and would have none of me passing him. They filled that spot in with some rocks in later laps as I had developed a diagonal path across it, but then as I was following Jeff through there I saw him go straight through with no problems...man that was easier than the path I was taking!

All in all it was a good challenge, definitely a different pace than a GP or MX race. Surprisingly I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be. I pulled the quad out of the trailer this morning and washed it down, found some carnage. Looks like it was time for the sway bar to break!

I was disappointed that there weren't more entries, but I had a great time! I will do the next one, but not sure if I will Ironman it or team race it. I think a two person team race would be killer.

Jeff, if you need some pre-stressed/pre-broken wheels, you can borrow mine

Congratulations to the ladies for putting in a great showing. Kat, I still have your spring for the throttle, if you can swing on by I will finish the job!

    Ash, isn't duct tape wonderful?

Thanks to my impromptu pit crew for helping me out!

Thanks GS for putting this on, next time we need to show up en masse and show our support for the tracks that support us.

They need to STOP scheduling races on holiday weekends... Easter (horrible turnout), mother's day (another horrible turnout), Memorial Day(extremely horrible turnout).... Surely they have to realize that people go out of town OR have family/company in town on these holiday weekends.....
