See you all there. I debated whether or not to Ironman this again but apparently I am a glutton for punishment. Last time I felt more like a brassman (or even a Jelloman ) but certainly not an Ironman. After my mishap at Canyon yesterday I'm wondering if my bike will make it through the whole race but I guess I will just run it into the ground!

The track at Canyon was fun and somewhat rough (as it should be) yet it was fairly easy on me which I think is greatly due in part to the conditioning from these crazy races. Definitely bringing the Camelbak this time!!! If it is the same track from the last GP it should be a blast and definitely a lot longer laps.

    Awesome!!

    Alex,

I'll probably take you up on the offer if I can't get it fixed tonight. Going to fiddle with it after work and see what I can do but most likely I'll need asssitance.

On lap 2, I stalled in one of the slow sections. Got it fired right back up, rode about another 30 seconds and it died like the key had turned off but it was still on. I tried re-firing several times where it would crank but it was like there was either no fuel or spark. I tried turning it on and off a few times to no avail and I noticed the "FI" light was flashing at one point. I started banging on boxes and jiggling wires. After letting it sit for a while (I'm guessing ~5 minutes) it started fine and I didn't have any issues for the last 20-25 minutes of the race.

Les mentioned he's had some electrical gremlins in the key switch area and compound that thought with the fact that at the same time I stalled I smacked a rock pretty good and I'm not 100% my Trinity FI controller was lighting up properly during all this either. I definitely need to do some troubleshooting but intermittent problems are a pain to diagnose. I may just have to ride on Saturday "as is" and cross my fingers. Definitely bringing the Honda as a backup though!!

I HATE electrical problems! That's my issue right now. I think I have a short somewhere. Last weekend when I raced in Page I only got 3 of the 5 laps in because of it. I'll be riding and everything will be fine then I will loose all power and the quad will shut down and I will have no power to the ignition switch. Keeps blowing the fuses by the battery. Unfortunantly the coarse was so brutal in Page it took out my spare fuse and I was done and chillin' in the desert until someone was kinda enough to pull start me. So hopefully Nick can figure it out before the weekend, if not i'll just bring ALOT of fuses and just replace as needed...lol.

    Ash, Jeff,

Sorry to hear about your electrical problems, I hope they don't plague you during the race (unless you're in front of me .

Kat, did you get your throttle taken care of? If nothing else I'd just remove the spring in the thumb assembly, the next step would be to reverse it and notch the arm in the assembly so it actually assists you in pulling on the cable instead of resisting your efforts. But if you just take it off that's most of the problem right there!

    See ya'll Saturday!
