Ya it was a lot of fun. We brought a fellow amx racer and it was his first time doing supermoto and he was already talking about getting a swaybar and supermoto tires

Holly crap! I missed a lot not being on in a few days. Well.....
First off, it does appear my comment of "Scrub" offended Mr. Noerr. For that, I apologize. I posted that on a private section of this web site that only a few others have access to. Bobby was there and knows "how I said it". I never once mentioned DJ's name either. Nobody in that private section of this forum would've known who DJ was. Anyways, during the race I was wondering who this "scrub" in front of me was because he wasn't going very fast and Jason was out front and I knew I'd need to catch him quick because I'm old, out of shape, and run out of steam quick. When I got off the track, after the race I didn't know it was DJ until Bobby ran over to congratulate me. It was by far my best finish there ever. I told Bobby, "Oh man, who was that in front of me that I couldn't get around?" He said it was DJ Noerr!. I was blown away! I thought it was just some scrub in front of me." That's all that was said. DJ IS very professional and was very nice to me. He seems like a great kid. We congratulated each other by the trophies and again in the trailer. I know your a proud papa and you should be. He's a great racer.
Jason and cody as well as other fellow racers all congratulated him on his wins as they are true competitors which is more than i can say for you. I remember your quads as having Curtis Sparks name all over them. Curtis is a dear family friend and you demean his name with your horrible lack of sportsmanship. Perhaps you could replace those stickers with something more suitable such as ' poopoo talkin whine- bag'. To the rest of the riders who competed at this race and let their skills on the track do their talking, it was fun and we will see you all next time.
Ok well I don't think Internet poopoo talking is real funny he might think it's cool to play kid games but I'm not very impressed.
And, now I "Demean Curtis' name? Are you serious? Because I referred to the slower person in front of me (at the time, on the track) by scrub? Holly Smokes! I disagree but, ok.
Look, I didn't even want to reply to this because nothing ever gets anywhere on these forums because tones of voices don't come across right and god-forbid I put an explanation where a comma should be. Or even worse, use the word scrub instead of, "Very professional, young talented rider who appears to not be quite as fast as me on the pavement, but much MUCH faster in the dirt section."
As for the name calling.
I called the person who beat me a scrub.
You called me a "poopoo Talking Whine Bag".
Said I have a horrible lack of sportsmanship.
Said I demean one of the greatest engine builders in the industry.
Said (in more words) that I'm not a true competitor.
Mr. Noerr, I don't know your first name but, my name is Kenny and my phone # is 602-717-8413. Just call me if you want to talk about this further. I think we'll both feel a lot better if we can work this out on the phone. If you don't want to speak, that's fine and I understand.

I had a great time. Formally met Bobby and Kenny out there and Dustin was there too. All a great bunch of guys and I hope to return next year.
I haven't seen any results posted either but I have a few pictures and results on my Hookit page if interested:

The track was fun and the pavement section reminded me a lot of my road racing/autocross days. There's not really another race like it except Pikes Peak and the races down in Tucson on this side of the country that I am aware of. It would be nice to get more quads interested in the ones in Tucson......

Official results have been posted on the Stateline website; biggest rider turnout to date but I didn't see any "big names" on the list i.e. Nic Granlund, Rath, Casey, Burton etc. Where were those guys, especially Granlund? Is he still recovering from his crash at ITP?

grunland broke his ankle or foot or something like that at the dunes. he was there but had a cast on. rath hasnt showed up in the past few years but i dont think he would be able to hang anymore with the fast guys.

Looks like a lot of fun!
I think this is something I would like to try out. When is the next race?
Who wants to advise me on setting up my quad? I will be using my YFZ 450 for this. I'm guessing a sway bar is in order along with tires and ???
Anyone have some good used equipment?
Thanks!

Alex,
I ran Stateline with my MX Honda with nothing more than an added sway bar and Supermoto tires. I used the Rath sway bar which is a nice piece and Durablue also makes one. Most guys run Hoosier or Duro tires. I ran the Goldspeed brand from DWT which I really liked but have nothing to compare them to. A guy has some used Hoosier's for sale here:
http://www.arizonaquads.com/forum/fl...ak-2010-a.html
I can't think of much else. A lot of the other guys use shorter shocks but I didn't think it was a huge disadvantage to run MX length, especially in my first outing. You just have to hang off the side of the quad like an ape reaching for a banana!
Anyway, they just had a race down in Tucson last weekend. The next race has not been posted yet (http://www.southwestsupermoto.com/). They usually don't get any quad guys so you would want to organize a group before heading down. Bobby and Kenny went on March 20th but they were the only two quads. I posted several related websites here:
http://www.arizonaquads.com/forum/fl...-2010-a-3.html
Hope that helps. If you have any other questions I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks Jeff!
I sent a PM about the tires, depends on cost right now as I'm spending a few to get the Yamaha back online and now I need to do repairs to the Outlaw.
I'll start searching for a good used sway bar then I guess it's time to do some practice!
Thanks for the info!
