    Default Transponders

Like all technology I think it is safe to say they are the latest, greatest for now! The transponders we used @ ATVA last year were the same. So if you buy DWT, ITP, ATVA,WORCS all are the same for now. Only problem I see with buying them is they seem to have alot of problems with them. If its theirs you give it back, yours you are screwed! Round #1 In Mesquite they had alot of trouble initially, but figured out a high tech tape mod(black tape on the bottom) and they worked great!

So far at round 1 & 2 of Worcs the transponders have worked great for everone I know, maybe they worked the bugs out of the system. They do have a 3 year warranty also.

I had no idea they had a warranty! I might as well buy one! How much are they to rent @ WORCS? I don't remember what we paid @ DWT.

They still rent for $10 at WORCS but raised the deposit to $150 because too many people did not return them after round 1.

Also, if it is like WORCS you can share a transponder with another rider as long as the two races are not back to back. They said there needed to be at least one race between the two.

Couple things to think about..... if you rent, you don't have to worry about charging them. Also, you won't have to worry about battery replacement in a couple of years. Not saying renting is better, but just food for thought.
