    Default Update To Speedworld TT

Ok after some talking to diffrent people this week i have found out some news.

I talked to Scott this afternoon. He is the new guy that is working the track right now trying to get it up and running. He seems to sound like he knows what he is doing and wants to do some good out there at the track. He is working to improve the track setup and the dirt condition. There is one good news bad news thing that i did find out, The track is going to be a dirt cushion track now. So for now the days of the hard packed track are gone. He also mentioned that it is going to only run TT and 1/4 mile oval, so that should help free up more infield room for a real good track. He is also trying to work it to get 100 tons of clay out there to improve the dirt. More news is that he wants to work to make it more entertaining out there and more for the whole family to enjoy it out there. Talking to him it sounds pretty good right now, so i wouldnt loose hope on the TT just yet.

I offerd to help him out if he needs it, and i will be going out to the track sometime soon to meet him and see how the track is coming along. He is also working to get the electrical fixed out there and wants to start running some night races. He told me he hopes to have it up and going in two weeks.

He was kinda sceptical about the quads not coming out to support the track, I let him know that we are out here and we want to race there and the he just hadnt gotten the word out good enough yet. I think thats all i got for now. I will keep an update going as i find stuff out.

Lets not loose hope yet, it just might work out.

If can still get ahold of him, tell him to join this forum & have him check out this thread from last fall.

Since the 1/5 mile is gone, some of these ideas might work.

Ok i went out and met Scott today and saw the track, I took a few pics ill get on later. The track layout is pretty close to the same, The small jump that was there is now bigger, not sure if it will effect the lowered quads to much. He also plans to add two more smaller jumps. It looks like a good thing is on the way so only time will tell. There are some rocks in the track that will take some time to get out but hopefully it wont be to bad.

Scott is also looking to have the races on Friday nights, He is trying to get everything together for the 18th of april. I will post all the details when i know all the specifics.

Just so everyone knows, the track is now ripped and will be ripped before the races, so it will be a cushion track, The biggest diffrence for those that dont know,,, you will be able to do better with the knobby tires then you could before.

Scott sounds very motivated to get the track up and in good condition and the things he wants to do sound like it will be good for the track. Just keep in mind it might take a little while to get the track up and perfect.

So what does everyone think of that date??? anyone think they could make it,,, im hoping i will have my motor back by then,

Friday Night races?? Is that for sure? What about those that work 'til 5 and live on the east side? There is no way.

Will the jump be a little hairy with a -2?

Friday isnt set in stone,, but its what they are shooting for. The -2 thing,,, i dont think so but we will just see what happanes. I know what you mean about clashing with the amx races,,, the only thing is with all the racing in az now it looks pretty hard to find a weekend thats open. Im sure in the future they will try to cordinate around the other races.

i dont think the word "cushion" and "tt" go together in the same sentence. its basically going to be a small mx track. you will NOT be able to run flat track tires, shoot i barely hooked up with my nobby tires out there. still sounds like they are going in the wrong direction.
