Ok, I just talked to Chris, apparently i talked to him at the track before and didnt know it. I talked to him about his plans for the track, Yes he is primarely for the cars, But has also said he will be willing to work with us and see if we can work out a way to keep both out there. Yes he is trying to run a softer clay track for the cars, but also said that it is soft for a few laps until it packs in. He said he will be out at the track this weekend and I will talk to him more on sunday when i go out to practice. Hopefully we can get a few more riders out on sunday to check it out and help with input.

i dont know if you are familiar with clay but when its prepped right, your shoes will stick to the track, and when it does harden up its faster than blue grooved hard pack dirt

the tracks focus is cars, where u dont want a packed track, cushion all the way.

Well, actually cars do want a packed track, The cushion is created from runnning on it. The dirt we have out there now is more Calechee (sp?) and sand. If they do find some good clay, then it should hold moisture better and not dry out so quick.

A clay track requires alot more work to maintain. Something that was not done in the past. Dumping a ton a water an hour and a half before we run on it is not track prep.

What time sunday are you heading out Jessie?

the cushion is created from the loose dirt on top of the racing surface being thrown up to the top creating a berm like cushion

well sunday they run practice at speedworld from 6 am to 11am, So i will be out there right about 6, and will probably be there the whole time. I just hope we can work something out, because if not all we will have a 1/4 mile oval and no TT. In my mind that sucks. I will race the 1/4 mile i just dont know if others will.

Well i guess the good news is i have a fast quad,, now i just need good suspension for mx.

We are in need of a good quality track for all of us die hard quad racers.. What we really need is someone who fights for us so thank you. I will make sure to get the word out as much as possible and maybe even call some of my out of state friends who race to draw bigger crowds. I'm a racer from ND and we can only race three months outta the year there so I'm sure my buddies would come down and race here. Let me know when you get it up an running and I'll be out there the day it opens for practice.

Well unfortunatly as far as i know the TT is gone for now, I was pretty much outnumberd on the way the track wanted to go. They did say they would consider running the oval for the quads and motorfcycles. It sucks, i loved TT racing, now im switching to mx as soon as my shoulder heals up.

There's always supermoto. The summer series down in Tuscon will be starting soon and there's still rumor of a track coming at Firebird.
