I don't think 'we' can. It's a format thing. Jeremy did have an arrow very early on that would allow users to 'open/close' the ad bar. And Google ads or what ever Jeremy is running, may dictate it be veiwable.
I'm on a widescreen monitor and rarely look at them. More like backgrond noise to me personally.
