    Default Cutting aluminum plate

I have a piece of 3/8 T-6 that I am fabricating a brake bracket out of for my son's trophy kart and need some ideas of on how to cut it. I have a Bosch jig saw with an metal cutting blade but it keeps clogging the teeth up every 1/2 inch. Any ideas?

Try a side angle die grinder. They cut anything! What shape are you trying to cut? If you want to use your jig saw, have someone stand there with WD-40 and keep squirting your blade. Keep the blade lubricated and you will do fine.

I'll try the WD-40 thing. I have a die grinder but the aluminum kept loading the disk up. Thank Robert.

If that doesn't work and you can wait a couple of days, I can CNC router it for you. We will be cutting aluminum tomorrow night and I could throw it on the machine for you.

I have used what used to be called Johnson' #140 Stick Wax. It used for drilling, machining, tapping etc. It's now sold by Castrol, so I have found.

It stays on a bit longer than WD-40 & other lubes. The key is to not got too fast. Let the blade do the cutting and try not to force it too much.

If your cuts are straight, I used my miter saw with a sharp wood blade to cut aluminum. Cut all the aluminum on my trailer this way.

But if you have access to a CNC, That's the way to go.
