    Default laker custom problem

So i just bought a set of laker custom plastic for my 05 honda 450 and the rears went on perfect. But my problem is the front wont fit. I have all mounting locations bolted up but the hood cant be put on. I can get one side to clip in but it is to wide for it to stretch out to be able to clip the other side. I am off by about half an inch or so. Any suggestions? O and i have an IMS desert tank is that my problem? will it only work with stock?

Tank shouldn't matter. What hood are you running? The Laker hood?

ya i am doing a laker hood. I measured it and and the top holes on the hood measure 8 1/2" and after i have the fenders bolted up the top holes on them measure 9 1/2" apart o i am not sure how to draw them together an inch other to start cutting some areas around the tank to make it skinner. which is what i am trying to avoid

Bolt the hood to the fenders BEFORE you mount to the bike, and you won't have a problem. Since you already mounted the fenders, just push the fenders together with your hands and then mount the hood with the push pins. If this can't be done, then detach one fender, assemble the hood to both fenders, and then re-attach the loose fender. Once you have the fenders and hood assembled in one piece, leave it together. Makes stripping the quad super easy.
