compression tester
I've got one for auto engines. Does anyone have one I can borrow? Need the small 10mm adaptor for the small spark plugs.

I've got one Mike. All the adapters are in there still. You're welcome to use it.

My little atc 70 project. Valves set, points set, carb clean, no fire.

Nope, it's either low compression or this after market coil is not right for this trike.

Is the "on/off" in the right position? Seriously?

Just send Dave a TXT he probably still has it (stock coil) in his truck and is like less than a mile from your house.

Only an kill switch, it's fine.
I get a weak spark. Most people blame the coil. Which is what I think the guy before me did. He went and bought/stole an aftermarket coil for a Bajaj scooter. It is rare that a stock coil goes bad on one of these things so I will put a stock one back on it and confirm I have enough compression.
Whoever worked on it was either totally incompetent, lazy, cheaper than me, or all the above. Valves were way out of adjustment. Timing completely off. Flywheel is damaged by trying to remove it without a puller. It still operates but is not pretty. He also lost the woodruff key for the flywheel and tried to 'stuff' a slice of metal in the slot after the flywheel was installed. So I had to file a generic one down to fit propperly.
The primary winding on the Mag looks suspect. I removed them and cleaned all the connections but the last few wraps of the copper wire are loose. I wound them back up tight. We''ll see what happens with a stock coil.
I left Dawh a voice mail.
