need some help

hello all i have some questions maybe someone can help me answere.. i have a 2008 yfz 450 i bought back in febuary last year and have keep to a t the maintaince sched and why not i paid 2200 hundred extra to ridenow powersports for a three year maint plan also 400 hundred for a extented mechanicl warranty.. so oct last year i wreak after full service and quad has to sit till febuary when i have enough for a new front end which i get and put about 10 hours onto the quad after i have it up again and oops i roll it again so the quad once again sits. in that roll i bent the tie rod and the overflow bottle broke at the point of mounting so i welded up a frame for it and made sure the coolant was full radiator and bottle.ok heres whwere the prob starts two months later i finally get tierod and put it on i take the quad for roughly a 5 mile run to get the front end dialed in. when i get home i turn the quad off the fan never kicks on nor the temp light next to the n light, overflow bottle is full.. couple hours later i take off for a ride mile down the road theres a loud pop and everything freezes up.. i take it to ridenow and they tear it down the connecting rod to the piston is seperated and the piston is kaboom. no scoring on the piston walls. anyways they wont honor the warranty beacause they say i had no coolant in the motor and the pump and all elactrical are working properly no leaks good compression. they only checked the pump by taking the housing off. wtf i had no warning that there was no coolant no fan turning on no warning light wtf im pissed and dont know how to fight these guys cause im just a dumb rider and not a certified mechanic help

Were there any leaks? Puddles on the floor? Is there water in the oil? I am assuming that you talked to a manager. How can they test the compression when there is no piston and the motor is seized? Have you gone to another RideNow? Sounds like you have a fight on your hands. Read the warranty very carefully for anything that says its voided under certain conditions.

no leaks, no puddles ,no trail of coolant, how these mechanics came to thier conclusions is beyond me. what i do know is yamaha told me to be sure the pump is working the crankcase has to come apart ridenow only took the housing off.. im in touch with a new shop now quad is taking a trip there saturday and they are going to dig deeper for me thanks oh yeah big oops i said compression i meant pressure tests my bad ill drink another one

extended warranty under section 8 states owners responsibilty to keep fluids but if the reserve is full and no other warnings come up after only roughly 10 to 15 hours since ridenow serviced how would i know ???? im no mecahanic nor a dummy something failed in there and im going to fight to find exactly what!

My neighbor had 3 YFZ's and 2 of them the water pump seals went bad, and the pump went bad in one as well, i am pretty sure that is what happened

Which ridenow did you take it to?

Do they know you wrecked?

its gonan be hard due to the time from the service that was done and the time you took it in for the problem.

I would say "You guys were the last to touch it" reason you got the service contract so they did all the work

ya if u take it to a new shop ask them to check the condition of the water pump and if its broken, than obviously the damage happend

All I can say is good luck. The maintenance contracts and warranties that Ridenow sell are good for one thing...screwing you out of money. If someone thourghly inspects the quad they are going to find out that it has been wrecked and see the bracket you made for the coolant bottle. When that happens they are either gonna scream abuse or modification and void the warranty. Not to be an a## here but it sounds like the quad has been through hell since you have had it and there is a good chance that something else got messed up the last time you tacoed it and that may be where your problem lies, in which case since you didn't have an authorized repair facility do the repair work they will void the warranty..what sucks is that they won't refund the money for the unused portion of the warranty.

ive crashed twice and kawi still honored my warranty, as long as it wasnt directly to the crash, such as my stator and regulator went out

I wouldn't take my electric weedwacker to Ridenow. Learn how to work on your own stuff.
