I'm thinking about hitting a few of the trails out at Rolls.

So I had the bike out today adn heres the deal. At first it was popping on decel, not bad but it was popping all the same. I was able to adjust that out with the a/f screw, I'm about 2 1/4 turns out. The bike responds really well to throttle input but seems like I'm hitting the rev limiter alot quicker in 1-3rd gears. It happens again at the top of 4th gear and I haven't been able to get it to happen in 5th...maybe I needed a longer stretch of trail, however 5th gear seems to get a little flat towards the top and maybe loose a little pull. No matter where I am at on the throttle and nail it the bike responds instantly. I am wondering if I am a little rich in the upper rpm's and that is giving me that feeling of hitting the rev limiter and the top of 5th feeling a little flat. If I back off the throttle in 5th and then wot it again it doesn't stumble or anything. So am I really hitting the rev limiter or is it rich? I know it's hard to tell by my description but I am just looking for opinions.

Go spend 10 bux on a few jets and play with it. Or go spend a 100 or so bux and have dialed in on a dyno. I think the 162 is a bit large for a slipon exhaust but i could be wrong.

Have you done the green wire mod yet? That will bump up the rev limiter a bit.

What clip position is the needle set on?

Also check for exhaust leaks coming off the head.

I haven't done the green wire mod yet the needle is on the 3rg clip down from the top and there are no exhaust leaks.

You can probably buy the ICM sub harness (CDI unit) separately - the one that comes with the HRC kit.

If so, I'd recommend that over cutting that green wire.

WARNING, the majority of the ORG patrons recommend not doing the green wire mod unless you have put an after-market cam on the quad.
