its still stock bottom end and the head was completely trashed. from what honda told me is that the exhaust valves were completely stretched.so it was a complete head rebuild

Well i switch oil viscosities according to the time of year. I run 10W-40 in the winter and 20W-50 in the summer. of course this is more important on air cooled motors. I use Honda GN-4. what do you use?

Well if Honda did the work I'd take it back to them!

Then call Morgan and ask him! I'm sure he'll help you out.

So it IS the stock piston?

If it means anything, I have noticed with my TRX450R, that when I use the oil sight glass (window), I have had several different readings when I have turned it on, and then turned it off.

I am wondering in your situation, if maybe it had a "H" reading, but when you started it up, it may have went down to below the "L" mark.

I am not saying that you have "not" gone through that much oil, I am just thinking of some "miss" readings I have experienced.

    Good luck...
