Exclamation Need Help W/ Honda 426 rebuild

I put my motor together and got it running good but I need help. the motor "ticks" a lot when running. It might just bet the valves but i wanted to see what you guys thought first.

Yes, definitely check the clearances again.

Did you install an aftermarket cam?

If it means anything, when I went from my stock cam in my 400EX to the Hotcams stage 2 cam, I too noticed more noise coming from the engine.

NOTE: Check the cam's valve spec's, as sometimes the clearance spec is a little more than stock.

    Good luck!

Yeah i put in a stage 2 cam. and it does have some differant valve clearence specs. All that i had Rudy do was port the head, bore/hore the cylinder, and some other misc things. the first problem was that the piston was hitting the spark plug. to the point that the slug had no gap. ik went ang got a slightly shorter plug and it was fine but there is more noise than there normally is. and its not getting the full compression.
