    The whole piston kissing the spark plug confuses me....how in the heck did you pull that off!?

    honestly i dont know. it had to be the piston. because the compression wouldnt do that.

    Well yea obviously the piston has a higher dome since you went higher compression...but enough to hit the spark plug!?!? Did you have the wrong spark plug with a super long threaded area that was sticking way down in the cylinder or what??? I'd be worried about that.

    it was a stock plug. but it was just a little bit too long. its going to get tore down again and put back together. i just wish it was as easy as most builds. but thats the price i paid for going 426. i painted the motor red w/ high temp and polished the ends of the cooling fins. it looks really cool .

    Exactly...it "looks cool", but remember that extra layer will hold some heat in. With that thing being air cooled you might want to watch out with that.

    well i would buy a 450. but i like my 400, let me rephrase that, I love my 400ex. I didn't want to get used to a new bike. plus there arn't any 400ex's that race mx any more. but im going to show everyone that it is possible to ride a 400 and be competitive in the novice class. plus if i can win on that just think of what i can do on a 450.

    Don't disrespect the 400 man. I did just fine on Marlin's a the ITP last year, and he's fast as hell on it!!
