The whole piston kissing the spark plug confuses me....how in the heck did you pull that off!?

Well yea obviously the piston has a higher dome since you went higher compression...but enough to hit the spark plug!?!? Did you have the wrong spark plug with a super long threaded area that was sticking way down in the cylinder or what??? I'd be worried about that.

it was a stock plug. but it was just a little bit too long. its going to get tore down again and put back together. i just wish it was as easy as most builds.but thats the price i paid for going 426. i painted the motor red w/ high temp and polished the ends of the cooling fins. it looks really cool

Exactly...it "looks cool", but remember that extra layer will hold some heat in. With that thing being air cooled you might want to watch out with that.

well i would buy a 450. but i like my 400, let me rephrase that, I love my 400ex.I didn't want to get used to a new bike. plus there arn't any 400ex's that race mx any more. but im going to show everyone that it is possible to ride a 400 and be competitive in the novice class. plus if i can win on that just think of what i can do on a 450.
