    Default Autotune Help Needed

So I was finally able to get my new Hotcam in the bike without freezing my a$$ off in the garage. (It's going to be in the 50s next week).

My issue is that I am not getting any new trims or AFR adjustments...

My autotune is working, so says Dynojet, because I am getting a current AFR reading. When I spoke to Dynojet this week the tech guy said I had to have either the run time or temp box check under Configure for Autotune. I didn't think this was my problem since the last time I had it going I only had the first box checked. I have plugged and unplugged, checked and unchecked boxes but nothing seems to be working and I am at a lost. I tried it again tonight and I am still not getting new trims. Anybody else have any other suggestions? What am I missing?

I just want to get a better tune and if I have to drive 2.5 hours and spend $150 to get it to a dyno I will but I'd rather not.

Installing a different cam doesn't really alter the fuel curve much. Where you expecting a drastic change in fueling?

Long story short...my timing was off from the person who put my piston in. When I opened it up I noticed I was a tooth behind (Nobody on here). So now it is running the way it's suppose but I have basically had to start over with my fuel management and now my autotune won't work.

Made another adjustment today and I am still getting no new trims or AFR readings. My current AFR at idle is hovering right around 14, which I think might be high. I copied a PC3 map from Dynojet that's close to my set-up, made some adjustments, and it seems to idle and rev very nicely. I will be running next weekend hopefully if it ain't too crappy outside, and I'll see how it goes. Dynojet will be getting another call from me also.

If anyone was on the edge of their seats about my issue, I have solved my problem. I called Dynojet tech support twice. They use remote assistance to get into my computer and the first tech guy noticed my software and firmware were outdated. We updated the PCV software to the most current version 1.0.3.3 and the firmware, which from what I understand is the 'computer code' that makes the autotune and PCV work together, to version 1.4. Updates installed, I restarted my computer and fired the bike up to see if it worked...no go...now not only was I not getting new trims but I was not getting a current AFR reading; I had all zeros. Tonight I called Dynojet back and let them know the issue...we reinstalled the firmware again, apparently sometimes it has to be done a couple of times. Next he had me type an AFR of 13.2 for all the boxes into the autotune AFR screen, press enter, fired up the bike, and I have a current AFR reading. Then we pressed the 'Get Map' button several times, each time the current AFR reading got closer to 13.2, and at that point the autotune was working correctly because I was getting new trims...problem solved.

So two things: 1) I needed to update both my software and firmware, and 2) I needed to "preprogram" my autotune once the new firmware was updated.

The solution: call Dynojet tech support...

Thanks for posting the solution. I'm sure a lot of people searching online will find it useful.

Software updates, firmware updates....... that sounds familiar. Even though I don't have a dynotune or EFI, I have been watching this thread and others elsewhere, it is the coming thing.

    Good post!

I was on the edge of my seat actually! I'm glad you got it figured out, and posted the solution. PCV with Autotune is in my future I'm sure...

The autotune is nice to have when you live in BFE! Now if it will just warm up a little more the tracks will open up and I can actually ride it.
