    Default Trx450r starting issues

Now that my quad is about 1 year old and has been rode hard. Does anyone know what the trick is to making them start easier? I have an 2007 Trx450r. Once it is started and warmed up it is usually easy to restart unless I stall it. The boyfriend is having the same problem his is an 2006. He has stalled his and killed the battery trying to restart it, ending his race. Does anyone else have this problem or the solution???

Check your valve and decompressor clearances. If you haven't adjusted them since you got the quad, that could be your problem.

Bingo. The valve adjusts are very important on a Honda. Especially the 06-08 with Ti intakes, they will wear out super fast if they are out of adjustment for too long. Leading to needing new valves and a valve job 9 times out of 10.

Yeah, Ashley. Marlin was having the same problem. The valves actually "stretch" a bit, causing starting problems. He played hell keeping them adjusted till he swaped out all the valves with aftermarket ones. Kibblewhite I believe. Ask him about it on RA...he's not on here.

I check my valves damn near after every ride/race. Almost everytime they are in specks.. I am so confused to WHY i still have this problem. I did re-seat them this last time, still didnt fix the problem. I am now thinking that getting it ported may help this issue too.
