    Default cam chain install?

    anyone know how to install a new cam chain on the 450r? i was told i take the case cover off, 17mm bolt for the flywheel, 10mm bolt for the slider?? i think it was, and then it comes right out. do i have to take th head off or anything else?

    any help is appreciated!!!!

    I don't think you'll need to take the head off. Once you get the chain off the cam sprocket it should just fall down through the head and cylinder and you can pull it out from the bottom.

    You have to remove the flywheel after you remove the side cover. You'll need a flywheel puller for that. Other than that, just remove the valve cover, tensioner, and the 2 allens that hold the cam sprocket on, and you're in business.

    awsome thanks for the help. hopefully this will be all i will need since i just got the bottom end rebuilt not to long ago and JUST got the head done.

    A decent motorcycle store would probably have one in stock. Maybe even a dealership. I have the Motion Pro one.

    that would be awsome if u could let me borrow it for a bit. i still need to order the chain unless u have one in stock that i could pick up tomorrow.
