Default how do i turn my trx450er into a kick start?

I was wondering how I could convert my trx450er into a kick start, and how much do you think it would cost? I have had too many problems with the electrical and battery and would rather kick start than keep having more problems.

Give this a try. I'm sure there's a lot more on that site as well:

WHat kind of issues are you having? Everyone I know that has an ER when it is properly setup has been problem free.

Did the starter go out or the starter clutch? 3rd battery, I have had my quad for ER for 3 years and it is still on the stock battery adn I ride mine alot. When you say it won't start do you mean it will crank and not start or just won't crank at all?

I've had mine since it came from the crate exactly 6 years ago and it still has the same battery, starter clutch and all other components. I will admit that I use a float charger when it's not being riden which has worked perfectly everytime. The starter clutch is understandable. Once they go out, they need replacement.

Lights don't work? And good power yet it won't start? Then that's not the battery but could be stator. The kick start assembly will cost you ~400 for parts. I've looked into it as well but that was a couple years ago and I haven't seen the need for it. I have the parts list and all honda part numbers if you are still looking to convert it.

The starter and starter clutch assembly both went out last year. my motor Will not turn over becuase of an electrical problem. If the stator was bad i would at least have power to the oil/neutral light and it would try to start. So I am going to try and find the fuses that could have broke. (anyone know where they are?) I still want to convert it. Does anyone know if i convert it, can i still use the electric start and or kick start?

Yes, you can have both systems work at the same time. There are two main fuses by the battery underneath the cover, can't miss them. If one blows, the entire system is without power.
