Default engines dies on my predator 500

i have a 2004 predator 500, after a few minutes /miles of riding it will just die. after it sits for a few minutes it will come back on. i tore the quad apart checked and cleaned all the connections. replaced the coil thought that was it, i did find some bares wires thought it might be that. eliminated the kill switch that wasn't it. any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked to see if it still has spark after it stops running? I'm guessing its a fuel issue possibly. Do the Predators have fuel filters?

the predator does have a fuel pump, with fresh filter. it's not a fuel problem. i lose the electric fan, lights. but it will come back on. it use to do it once in awhile now it happens all the time. my rides are short, don't want to get stuck out in the middle of nowere!

Electrical is certainly NOT my thing! Few Predator guys on here could probably help you out.

I knew someone that had problems like this on his motorcycle. It ended up being a CDI issue. He had a lose connection inside he CDI and as it. Would heat up it would kill the bike. But he had to let it cool down a little bit.

Maybe Marlin (Fishboy) can chime in here. He had a funky CDI issue too. Only his wouldn't die while riding, but if he shut the bike off, it wouldn't start again until the CDI had cooled off...a lot.
