Default Red light on a 05 TRX450R. what controls it?

It was coming on last night at the track and was driving me nuts.
Mostly came on when hitting the face of the jumps and was off by the time i landed. It nerver stayed on just blinked at me really and only on the track

    what controls this?
    Coolant?
    Engine temp?
running lean? ( can be related to engine temp?
    Coolant temp sensor?

I checked coolant level when I got home and was good. Nice and full.
I am going to check the Temp sensor and see if it has a good connection.
any thoughs or know what controls that light?

    thanks

If its only when you are on the face of a jump I'd guess its a just a connection somewhere. A lot of G forces when you're going up the face of a jump.

I beleive it only connects to the sensor coming off the left side of the head up by where the upper coolant hose attaches.

I had a very similar problem and fattened up my jetting and never had the light come on again unless I get a lot of mud plugging my radiator. But I would double check connections first.

The coolant temp sensor controls the light and also the cooling fan. If the light goes on the fan should also be on being that this is indicating an overheat condition. Make sure that the yellow/blue wire coming from the coolant temp sensor to the icm isn't grounding somewhere and also make sure that the gray wire coming out of the icm and leading to the coolant temp light isn't grounding. Both of these wires arein the 8 pin connector at the ICM. If the wiring is ok and you know for sure that engine isn't overheating then double check your grounds. If all that checks out then the fault lies either in the coolant temp sensor or the circuitry in the ICM itself.

Well went out and started it up
let it idle till the fan came on. It did. Noticed the pipe was turning a little red at the head. Which i would think is normal. due to it not moving and in a 90deg garage just idling with no air flow. It did turn on. I did find the overflow bottle was loose at the radiator cap. SO i need to tighten that

I did a wiggle test on the sensor wire at the temp sensor and the red light didn't come on. I did a wiggle test on all the connections under the hood, Light didn't come on. I Did notice the oil may have been a little low
