I wouldn't use tusk to save my life, Cometic is the only way to fly! Keep in mind, 90% of the time, you get what you pay for, you buy cheap parts, you get cheap parts.

As far as reliable, i think the most reliable crank and crank bearings, Hod rods has had problems in the past with bearing failure but from what I understand they have remedied the situation. The cylinder works kids arn't to bad. Let me ask you this what type of riding do you do?

I agree! I am against big bore kits! I think you comprimise the reliability... And for MX there is no need for a big bore kit! IMO if big bore kits were the wa to go for MX then all the factories would be running big bore bikes and they are not.

Unless you want to be wrenching on the bike as often as you ride it, stay stock and play with a slightly higher compression piston and PROPER jetting. Spend the money to have it dynoed and jetted PROPERLY!

First, factory teams don't run big bores because the limit is 450cc. Second, big bore motors (if a quality build) actually slightly increase reliability, but it only provides additional low end torque, not a big boost in hp as one would think. Due to the 450cc limit in over 1/2 of the race classes offered in almost any race series, big bore kits aren't as popular as they were years ago. I'd recommend a quality 450cc build. Hit up either Kenz Cycle Tech or DFR and you can't go wrong.

The reason factory teams dont use big bore kits is because they can't. They have to run a 450. they have tech inspections at all the rounds at nationals to make sure nobody is cheating. As for here, if you arent racing pro you arent gonna get checked. I'm thinking about doing it on my ltr450
