Never seen a valve impale itself into a piston like this! You cannot pull it off of it. Damn the luck!

Damn Troy, is the head gonna be salvagable? Looks like the valve seat us pretty damaged

Did the valve stem actually puncture the piston?

Yeah, the stem pressed right into the piston. Not sure, but I think the head is junk. I think the crank side rod bearing actually is the culprit. Sure sucks. He had a good run going that night, and had looked good in practice. I am not sure what I am doing with it yet. I hate to get to crazy this close to the end of the season.

You sure have some crappy luck with motors man. I imagine Kody would be darn-near unstopable if you could keep an engine under him long enough.

No Crap! The Honda has been great up to this point. In hindsight, the rodbearing should have been changed when we did the motor after #395. Short turnaround time and we cut some corners. I also let him race a couple extra races (ET, and AZQX) that we probaly shouldn't have? The Honda still only had about 11 races total on it since we bought it. Watching him in the second moto the other night, you would never have believed that he had never even sat on that Yamaha he was riding. Were it not for such a crappy gate, I think he could have won that 2nd moto. Oh well, maybe we will have better luck as a Pro. We are future going to make the last round at GH and run Pro to see how we sit for next year.

Yeah that was Speedworld. I wish I knew the turn of events. It started smoking on the line, Kody said it was bogging frm the start and just kept loosing power. The rod bearing shelled, but maybe that was from the valve pressing into the piston? Either way it is a mess. Half Case again, crank(possibly ok), cylinder, DASA head, and just two races left. I called Joe Byrd hoping he was wanting to get rid of a motor, and hearing the rumors of him and KTM next year, no good. I have to make a decision today on what to do.

Decided to have Walsh do our head. Nate at Walsh is great to deal with, and knowing their history it seems like a no brainer. They will do our head and we will do the bottom end. Boxing crank up to send to Crankworks, and get the rest of this shipped off. Feels good to finally make a decision!
