Anyone ever switch over from fuel injection to a carb? Beside weight saving and reliability, are there any other pros to doing it? Cons?

I have never heard of anyone doing the switch that way.....

Shut up and go ride.

I have heard of it before but never seen. A few guys sponsored from ATP said their pro quads were converted and were talking about it on another forum.
Just curious.
Very common for Team Green (I will not list riders so don't ask), and I have heard of it on Suzuki and Can-Am, but don't know if they continued on with anything after testing. Some of the EFI stuff is left on the bike for photos or viewing in the pits, or they photograph an identical bike with EFI for the magazines.
Lots of stuff goes on at the national level that most will never know about.
Some bikes are too limited with EFI. It all depends on what you are going to do with the motor to determine if the EFI is a hindrance or not. It is not black and white on EFI vs. Carb.

startin to come along... 1 piece at a time!!
i dont think it would be very hard. if you had a little knowledge about both systems. i know people that send out their harnesses to get wires cut out. i pick up a manual and read the schematic and take out as much or as little as i want. if you learn about it you could do it. just depens on how much time/$$$ you want to spend.

I have definetly heard of pros making more power with carbs
Talk to rudy at dfr. He just did an FI to carb conversion on an ltr450. we are thinking about doing it to mine. he made huge horsepower gains by doing it.
I did. Rudy was helpful, as always. I have looked into it quite a bit. It's expensive for sure but worth it if you are going to run a high horsepower engine. I don't think it would be worth it on a stock bore engine. One thing that i just did find out is that the carb will not fit if running the stock shock; the rezzy is in the way.
