Default brand new motor blown up in minutes! WHY?

Ok here is my long motor story!
I picked the motor from my local shop the other day, and they only built the bottom of the motor in my LTR!(Crank, tranny, oil pump, etc) then I put the cyl, piston, and head on, etc.
Well I put it in my LTR and started it up and it ran great! Nice and smooth and everything! That's when I decided I would ride it down the street and back, and just take it nice and easy!
Well when I got back the motor quit as I was pullin up! And the entire engine was SUPER HOT!!!! Way hotter than regular temp! And then I tried to start it again out of curiosity! Well the starter will only turn it over about a quarter of a stroke and then it locks up! But I then push started my bike and it started but ran way rough! I can manually turn my crank and everything inside spin but there are bad noises coming from the motor when I do that now!
    So my question is this!
What do you guys think caused the problem?
I think the shop that built it put the iol pump propeller in backwards!
    But idk! Wats you input

    THANKS for your help

Did they put the oil pumps in the correct places?

they do not go anywhere. You need to get it apart and take pics I have a flywheel pulling if you need to use it.. I had my engine out and apart in about 3 hours. when i blew up the tranny...

It almost sounds like maybe oil failure, bearing may have locked. Gear may have broken somewhere ( there are alot of gears in there) lol

Depending on what happened to it previously....I have seen the screen that leads into the oil pump in the bottom of motors get clogged with metal debris after a motor suffers a failure. When the motor is repaired, if that screen isn't checked/replaced, it can def lead to the oil pump failing - which will lead to no oil getting through your motor, which will seize it up pretty quick once it's running again. Just an idea.....

Hard to tell, there are a number of things that can go wrong when more than one party has their hands on a motor rebuild.....

It would be very hard for a shop to overlook the oil pump screen if they were changing the oil pump... but definitely sounds like a oil system component failed... I've heard of this a couple times on fresh LTR motors being built by shops with normally good reputations... Not sure what's difficult on em. Haven't personally split one of those cases yet but it seems something in the oil system is giving quite a few shops the same problem...

Built to race. I just can't afford it much anymore

Well the update is that the shop says that the problem was that the cams were over torqued! Which I torqued them to specs! But o well if that really was the problem then ity won't blow up when they get done buildin it! But I've so far replaced everything on this build except the crank, piston, and cyl! I wish I could do the piston/cyl. But I'm out of funds! And its late in the season to try to find a sponsor deal! Or a payment program! O well! But I'm sure that I will love the all new head, valves, etc!!!!
