i just got done changing the filter to my Honda TRX450r and i was putting the longer bolt in and it must of not gone in right because the bolt snapped in half inside the case.

    what do i do?!?!?

the bolt is the easy part. You can find the bolt at your honda dealer or at a hardware store that has a good selection of metric. The tricky part is getting that bolt out. If you can see any part from the outside and can get a screwdriver or anything to grab it than just try and back it out. If not you will have to buy an easy out. It is basically a tool that requires you to drill a hole in the center of the broken bolt and then insert the tool and it has left hand threads that grab the broken bolt and help you back it out. Don't force the easy out!!! If it starts to bind up try something different you don't want to break the easy out off in the bolt that really creates a problem.

    Good luck.

Is it the same bolt my buddy broke?

He ended up taking it in the shop, but all they did was remove the side cover and the bolt came out with just their fingers.

Time consuming but rather easy to do.

The Honda shops carry the bolt. They said not to get a hardened bolt due to galling of the case threads with it's use. Bot so sure I agree with that but it's up to you.
