Anyone use an in-line fuel filter on their LTR? And is it necessary with race fuel.

I do it on my yfz just because it's always a good idea, you never know if something might have gotten into the fuel.

I would definately check before adding an in line filter on a fuel injected bike. The fuel is under a lot of pressure compared to carburated. Chances are there is strainer type filter in the tank and as long as you are carefull not to let anything drop into the tank while filling I would leave the fuel injected lines alone.
it should be ok if it is done before the pump, most reputable filters are just as strong as the strainers.

i'm going to do this mod to my friends ltr. it's cheaper than doing the oem filter change. http://ltr450.theatvchannel.com/invi...showtopic=5532

I found some small 90 degree filters at Toy Junkies that fit nicely on the YFZ. (Carbed)
See through so you can keep an eye on it. Good insurance.
ive done it, it will change the afr just a bit, if your running a programmer you may want to strap it on a dyno,
the only reason i did was i had to change the swirl filter, and the inline is a 1/4 of the price.
Everyone I know that puts a inline fuel filter on a ltr, has issues. It screwed up the map as well as pressure..
