Default Removing the head and jug question

I have to remove the head and jug from my 06 YFZ because it is leaking oil between the jug and the case. Can I do it with it with everything still in the bike, or do I have to remove it? Has anyone done it before?

Rudy, what would you guys charge to do this if I brought you the bike, the gaskets and shim kit and how long would it take?

    ,

    $199.99 For the labor

$20-30.00 More if you want us to throw in some fresh oil, oil filter, and spark plug.

We would only need it for 2 or 3 days.

I am still trying to decide if I want to do this on my own or pay for it. I have all the parts and tools and a shop manual to follow and I am sure I am capable of it, but if something is wrong or goes wrong I lack the experience to know better.

If you have some hours on your top end that would be a good time to throw a fresh set of rings at it too.

That's just it, I have no clue how many hours are on it. I got the quad in early December and I have maybe 4 - 6 hours on it. I am going to start the tear down tomorrow afternoon, so by tomorrow night I will have a full idea of what has been done to the motor and what kind of shape it is in.

So last night I was up until 1 am getting it all tore down. Got started on it again around 2 this afternoon and after a few breaks, I got it fired back up at 11 tonight. I am going to ride around the hood tomorrow and let it get good and warmed up and see how it does.
