    Default local shop pr*ck

So i go to go out and ride for the first time in awhile last weekend. rented the trailer bought some c12 etc finally get out to find out my quad is bogging out bad then wont start. Eventually after tearing apart the carb making sure nothing is sticking i glare inside the cylinder head to find a piece of something. Come to find out One intake valve broke and hit the piston and the valve head smashed into the cylinder head..yay.. I go to the local shop here in yuma that was still barely open to find out the guy working there was totally walking around every question with remarks about how i was dumb and i should know more..lol and he also went to say his give a sh*t level was down low and he could care less if my quad ran or not lol....all i was trying to find out is if he could fix my cylinder head where i wouldnt have to shell out a bunch of money to redo a new or used one...if hes correct i guess noone can and he said even if someone can its not worth then fixing the gashes the valve left into the cylinder head so hopefully ill figure something out here soon...i guess the guy doesnt want my money nor wants to try to help me out.

Yea, once you get the damage around the valves like that, it's pretty well toast.

you might check with one of the porting guys like racers edge. If you want to build your bike that is. They may be able to rechamber the head for you. sometimes part of that process includes unshrouding the valves. which removes material from around the valve head area to allow more flow.

just a thought on the possible cause how hold was the fuel in it? we have problems in my shop from people running bad gas and sticking the valves on generators etc.

WOW that is cool. If the dude talked to me like that i would have shoved my foot up his ass!!!

However since he treated you like that i woundnt take it back to him, if you can get it to PHX i would call Rudy at DFR, or Racers Edge in tucson... Depending how bad the gouges are in the cylinder are dependant on if it needs repaired, however even slight damage to cylinder wall can cause major damage to engine.... if it was me i would look at a total rebuild! just to be safe

That Sucks!! I pretty much hate dealing with the shops here in Yuma, the only one so far that has been good for me is Performance. I would rather drive to PHX or El Centro and deal with them
