Default Carburetor Help on '04 Raptor 660R - PLEASE

We went to Glamis a few weeks ago and rode all over the weekend. Came home and parked the quads for a week and then went out to start my sons 660 and it won't stay running unless the choke is on?

I have rejetted his carbs many times because we ride up in Northern AZ during the summers and I know my way around the carburetors pretty good. I had to rejet the carbs back to stock before we went to Glamis and the quad ran GREAT at Glamis.

His quad starts right up and will only idle on its own with the choke on. If I quickly shut the choke off and give it gas it will run but pops alittle. As soon as I lift of the gas it dies.

I have double, even triple checked the carb boots from the motor to the carb and from the carb to the air box. NO LEAKS at all and everything is lined up perfect and tight.

I have read several post on the many Yamaha forums were others have had SIMILIAR problems as I am describing. I was hoping for some local help right now.

    Where should I start first?

Could it be that the float levels are off?

Could it be the parking brake switch?

Could it be the choke cable going into the carbs is loose?

If it is one of the above metioned or something else, what should I check and can you tell me how to fix it?

Check your valves. I had the same problem on my ltr 450 about two years ago. The valves tightened up so much that it wouldn't stay running unless I was on the gas or left the choke on. They are fairly easy to do as long as you have the tools and the time. If you need to take it somewhere to get that done I would recomend DFR in mesa.
