    Default Junked my head

Doh! This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've f'd myself by talking with someone while working on my quad!

Day before practice at CEMX I washed the quad up and changed the air filter. Well...someone was in the garage with me and I apparently didn't tighten the clamp on the air filter. Oops! It fell off during practice Saturday and I probably rode 2-3 sessions like that before I finally felt something wrong and decided to check it out. Somehow I knew to check the air filter and there it sat in the airbox. Damn!

Sent the head back to Racers Edge AZ after the race. Just got off the phone with Morgan and its junked. All the valves, seats, exhaust ports from burning oil, back side of valves from bad fuel (no more Sunoco 110??), etc.

The hell of it all - even with a junked head I holeshotted first moto. Lucky I guess!

So I guess the only good thing is that I'll have a fresh head for Glen Helen!

Now we know the secret in making your bike slower. Just call you up when your working on it.

Sucks to hear that Jeremy .

That must've created an extreme lean condition while the filter was off, you might want to check your exhaust packing to as preventative maintenance.

Morgan stated that whatever fuel I was running did not burn clean at all and suggested changing to prevent all the deposits that had formed. Mainly on the back of the valves I believe he said.

I started to run Sunoco 110 about 3 months ago, I had the head off my 440ex about two weeks ago and it had a yellow like residue "kinda sticky" on it. I didn't think much of it but I never saw that when I ran VP. I guess I better get off the Sunoco before it gums up my motor too

It didn't kill my motor by any means, it just left excessive deposits.

I know what you meant, I just phrased it wrong. I don't like the residue its leaving behind.

That Sucks Jeremy! Know how you feel. We had a fresh top end and lost an air filter in practice, Kody rode all day with no air filter! We are going to do top end for Glen Helen and then the KTM's are down the road (if we ever sell them). We had such good luck all year with a first year bike, it just makes sense to switch to the new 450R See everyone at Glen Helen, and Michael I will see youat Glamis after that!!
