    Default Disappointed

A few months back I brought my quad to DFR, for some simple jetting issues. I'm not new to the sport and I know my way around a motor I just didn't have time to work on it and I wanted to ride. (This was the first only and last time my atv will ever go to a shop) I get the call my quad is all fixed up stop down to dfr to pick it up.... take it home ...still doesn't want to start. I crack open my carb to find that DFR had my quad for a week and did nothing. And I mean nothing. I was charged for jets I didn't recieve.. charged for labor that as far as I'm concerned never took place. And left with a machine that still didn't run. About a month later I started digging.. rejet my quad and it's running like a champ. There was no other issue's just too fat of a pilot jet. I stripped every DFR logo off my race quads, truck, trailer etc.. I can't believe canam hired you to be there mechanic. I wouldn't let you or anyone in your shop even lube my chain. All I can say is disappointed. (And the shock you put new seals in leaked after the first ride I fixed that too.)

WTF?!? I know it's late, but are you drunk??? Rudy is one of the most respected ATV guys in the valley...now with the Can-Am deal, maybe even the industry! You sure you're talking about the right place???

Sorry Rudy, didn't mean to step on any toes, but something don't sound right here...

Did you call Rudy back and ask him what the deal was? Sometimes there is a simple explanation for these things.

    And what is your name?

I stopped by there on Tuesday for the first time ever and had some jetting questions for Rudy, we probably talked for about 10 minutes or so. He seems like a stand up guy IMO. Did you ever bother to call him and address these issues???

Ive stopped into DFR several times to ask Rudy questions, he is always very friendly and willing to offer his advice. He is definately a stand up guy. Not sure why you wouldnt let him know you had an issue instead of coming on here and bashing them.

There is no way that would EVER happen at my shop, you would think you would at least have called and said something to me. I did notice two things, it has been a few months (according to you) and you are barely complaining now, you just signed up on this forum and your first post was to complain about me. I'll tell you what, since it does not sound like you want us at all near your machine, I will give you a 100% refund on the job we supposedly did no questions asked. All I need is your name so i can look it up in our system. I have a feeling I won't be hearing from you.

Also, FYI, I can erase your post from the Dirtfiend forum, but I will not since I feel none of your complaints are true and to give you the chance to man up and back yourself up.
If you don't know, ask and i'll tell you!!!

Rudy posted above as I was typing......
    ************************************

Well let's look at a few facts that cannot be disputed:

First post by this member who happened to join minutes before he posted. Jeremy might be able to determine if he might have been lurking for a few months before joining by checking his ISP.

The post is made late at night.

His profile is all but blank.

He does not mention talking to Rudy about it. (I doubt he did)

Those are the facts as we know them to be right now.

Having talked with Rudy only one time I can say he is one of the most personable guys I have met in this industry. I would have a hard time believing he "stored" your quad and charged you for it.

Supposedly you know your way around a motor but didn't have time to do this yourself? Seems strange to me but alot of you guys take your stuff in for things like this. I generally do it myself, buts that just me.

I find it hard to believe that Rudy or DFR staff did not start it up when you picked it up. It was a jetting issue after all. And if by chance they didn't, why didn't you start it up?

I think a bit more digging will prove we are not being told everything.

But welcome to the forum anyway!

Probably one of the DFR competitors trying to stir up the pot. I seriously doubt the community here on AZQ is gullible enough to even give this a second thought.

Someone comes on, signs in, and a first post like that. Not going to carry allot of weight. Especially when they say they know their way around a motor but were in a hurry to ride, so took it to someone. If they really knew their way around they would know it probably took longer to load it on the trailer than it would of taken to change a jet.

Keep up the good work Rudy!!!

I can change a main jet in 7-10 max, mabey finish a beer in that 7-10 min too. So you must be pretty busy.

Lets see, there most likely two phillips screws to loosen, one 17 mm bolt to be take out and on 6mm jet. Shizz I could have dont it in the time it took you to type up your so called complaint.

Why dont you scan a copy of your service bill and prove yourself.

Not the way I would want to get my cherry popped on a forum, but hey, he's the dumb A$$. I have never dealt with Rudy or his company, but I don't put one red cent into your story. ANY decent person would try to resolve any problems before you puplicly bash them.
    Phone call? No!
Return the quad showing them what the problem was supposed to be? No!

Blew off the cobwebs and changed the antique fuel from your flat spotted tired quad? Probably!

don't worry Rudy, We got yer back!
