Whippy PV
Went out to the Yavapai County Fairgrounds today to check out the track for next weekend. Not a lot to report as the track appears to have not been finished graded or prepped yet. Looks like it will be wide, and will double back a few times to be 1-1/2 miles or so. Looks like a looonng front straight that has a 5' high fly-away jump in it right now. I'm sure they'll grade this one. The surface appears to have a a lot of cobble in places but again, no grading has been done in a while so who knows what it'll look like next weekend.

assuming it stops raining/snowing up there by thursday do you think the track will be dry by sat and sun? or can we expect a muddy/slushy track? Is there snow on the ground there now?
Thanks,

Snowed like mad for a while today. Not a lot of accumulation but got everything wet again. Cold tonight so its going to freeze but if Thursday and Friday turn out sunny like they're expecting should be good for the weekend. May not even have to run the water truck at all!
Fairgrounds are pretty exposed and the wind blows a lot out there making it feel colder than it is, so pack accordingly.Michael

thanks michael please keep us posted. I am not sure I can afford a mud race. The last race cost me an engine so i am strapped.

Snowing like mad again tonight.
Still not worried since predictions are for clear and warmer Thursday and Friday. I'll try to give another update before everyone heads out for the weekend.Michael
