Step one: go to www.mozilla.org/download.html and download.

    Step two: install

Step three: never use IE again!

We are going to need a little more info. What does Event Viewer tell us?

What flavor IE? IE7, IE8, etc.

Coming from a non-computer person, IE is retared and more prone to viruses. I use Firefox but someone was also telling me about Opera??? Anyone heard of this?

It's another third party browser, Google has one called 'Chrome'. They all have the're pluses and minuses. I use IE most of the time. Play with FireFox and Chrome. Haven't tried Mozilla or Opera.

    Nvm. i fixed it

Microsoft > support > found a IE8 tip for running AVG. needed to be updated. it put it in special no-add-ons mode which wouldn't allow it to open correctly.

    thanks

    IE or AVG needed updating?

either way, staying on top of software updates eliminates many problems.
