Default Fried IPOD and lots of music lost

How can I connect the hard drive from the ipod to the computer? Or if I even can... I had tons of music, from a lot of different computers too, otherwise I wouldnt be so worried about it =/ I got a Zune on the way too. =)

I am not aware of any way to connect the iPod Hard drive to a PC. The hard drive on an Ipod is actually a Fash drive I believe, like a USB stick.

There are utilities that will assist in recovery.

Does it turn on at all?

The only thing I can suggest is to Google for a fix. The biggest problem you have is getting it to turn on. If you can, then we have a chance of recovering the data.

I think I backed up te files onto my laptop! I just remembered. But with Ipod, the music files on the ipod itself are a bunch of letters in many different folders. Downside to that is you dont know who the artist is. lol

Your ITunes will have a backup copy of your Ipod music. Unfortunately, it's in a proprietary format that only ITunes and IPods recognize so when you get your Zune, you'll want to find a program to convert the files into an MP3/MP4 format.
I purchased a program to convert my AAC file's downloaded from iTunes into MP4 format and I use it on my Insignia Music player just fine.
