I have just finished a job doing just this. It took way, way longer than it should.![]()
When networking XP or Win2K, it was a straight forward process, same workgroup name, same subnet, different PC names, maybe add some user accounts, share your drive/folders and away you go.
Not so when Vista jumps into the mix. There are settings that need to be checked and double checked. Vista and XP firewalls need to be on, (which goes against logical troubleshooting). Plus a few more things one needs to ferret out of the internet because Microsoft doesn't provide a detailed step by step, (they seem to leave out a few things).![]()
So if you are having problems with this give me a call.It's not something we can do on this forum or on the phone. I need to actually sit in front of the PCs for this one.
