That sounds a little cheap for a True Gaming PC. My Business Class boxes start at around $900 and go up from there depending on how much drive space they want.

    Shoot me the parts list.

Ok I will have my uncle email me the parts list as well. He is pretty into the computers and so are his buddies he talks to.

But we are buying everything seperate and building it ourself. If that explains why its cheap... lol

We are probably getting a different power source but same wattage, just a brand he knows well, and maybe a mini atx motherboard as it is a tad bit cheaper. What would be better do you think on the motherboard? mini atx or atx?

This explains the price a little bit. Have never used Broadway or Biostar products. Not what I would call 'namebrand' components. I put them in the same class as Rosewill and Ebit.

I don't see any RAM. I would get at least 2GB for Vista. Go with at least Kingston brand. Corsair, Curcial, or OCX would be better.

I never buy based on Mail-in rebates either. You have to jump through hoops to meet requirements and it takes forever to get anything back, if you do at all. Instant rebates are fine, but not mail-in rebates.

If you plan to do any video editing be sure to get a firewire port! Makes life eaasier. This one doesn't have it.

Get an Enermax power supply. That is all I use, good stuff.

This is what I would call an entry level gamer box. Not something I could sell to a client because my rigs need to stay alive running 24/7 for at least five years. And some of these components I can't trust to be up to the task.

This would not be a motherboard I Overclock, so it's not an issue. OC'ing is when you play with voltages and timing of the CPU, front side buss, or RAM to make it run faster. It also makes it run less stable. Gamers and benchmark chasers love Oc'ing but it is not as popular as it once was due to the newer Dual-Core & Quad-Core CPUs.

This rig should be fine for wht you plan on doing with it. It's not in a mission critical situation because if you do have problems, your not missing payroll, just some game time.

Yea, the stuff is what I came up with but my uncle and his buddies(all gamers lol) got it pretty well put together and still at the price I am at. The motherboard having a firewire port isnt an issue because on the case it has two usb ports and a firewire. SO all is good with that.

Only question is what would be better for a motherboard? An ATX or the mini ATX?

I have a bio-star motherboard, and i have had no problems, even had it overclocked for a while when i was big into gaming in korea. just make sure you keep it cool. I have had this one for a little over 5 years now,, still runs good, for an old one, will probably build a new computer when i get back from iraq,, everything still runs well,, just not up to date at all.

Only question is what would be better for a motherboard? An ATX or the mini ATX?

This is determined by what features your mobo will have. The more features included will most likely be a Full ATX board. It will also have more PCI-E and PCI slots. Fewer features will most likely be a mini-ATC board.

If you do end up with a full ATX board, be sure your case is large enough to install it. Many cases will say they can take an ATX board but you will find large video cards will hit the Hard Drives. When in douibt get a larger case.

a firewire port isn't an issue because on the case it has two usb ports and a firewire.

Just because the case has the firewire port, doesn't mean you have anywhere to plug that port into!! The board must also have a plug for the 'case' firewire port. It's usually on the bottom of the board. Looking at the manual, this board does not have firewire.
